Ignacio in a professional portraitIgnacio snowboarding in the mountains

Two sides, same person.

Engineer by logic. Outdoorsman by nature.

I'm Ignacio, a mechanical engineer currently working at Eurofighter in Munich, but based in Zürich. I build tools that make work easier, spend weekends in the mountains, and believe the best conversations happen over a beer. This site is a mix of who I am professionally and what I care about outside of it.

Background

Supply Chain & Project Engineer

Eurofighter GmbH · Munich · Current

Working on one of Europe's most complex defence programmes.

Co-founder

Kuotify · Spain

An energy efficiency consultancy. Profitable from launch.

CAD Designer & Process Automation

Carpinterías Reunidas del Sur

Design work, plus automating the parts of the process nobody enjoyed doing by hand.

Mechanical Engineering

University of Seville · Erasmus at Hochschule Luzern

Where the Switzerland part of the story starts.

My work tends to sit at the intersection of engineering and problem-solving, whether that's coordinating supply chains for fighter jets, building automation tools that save hours of manual work, or helping businesses understand their energy costs.

Things I've built

Eurofighter Supply Chain Tool

Eurofighter Supply Chain Tool

Internal tool · In daily use

Built the first integrated supply chain visibility tool for my department at Eurofighter, replacing a manual process that had never been properly solved. Now used daily by the team.

Custom platform · Built with my co-founder

Currently building a fully custom CRM with my Kuotify co-founder: client management, invoicing, energy tariff comparisons, and direct integrations with our partners' platforms. All from one place, no switching tools. You can find below a previous app developed by me, built to upload data easily from our phones to our current CRM on Excel.

Built with AI tools

Built using AI tools. If you know how to use them properly and judiciously, it becomes one of the most useful tools you can have, both professionally and in everyday life. If a tool doesn't exist that does what I need, I build one.

What's next

I'm actively looking for my next role in Zürich, across engineering, project coordination, supply chain, or operations. I work best in environments where precision matters, problems are real, and ownership is expected. English working environment preferred.

Mountains & outdoors

Snowboarding, hiking, and recently started climbing. I'm drawn to anything that puts me in nature and pushes me to learn something new: new techniques, new limits, new places.

Travel

I've lived in Spain, Switzerland, Ireland and Germany, and try to keep moving. One of the best trips so far: Iceland during my Erasmus year, a campervan, impossible landscapes, and friends I still have today.

Scouts

I've been a scout mentor for years. It's taught me more about responsibility, risk management and improvisation than most professional experiences, because the people depending on you are kids, and you can't afford to get it wrong. I also genuinely love it.

On the fourth picture, you can see one of the projects I'm most proud of started exactly here: a portable sink unit I designed and built for the group as part of my engineering thesis. They've been using it on camps ever since.

Building with AI
Spoiler: I don't drink coffee, I just don't have real photos of me coding.

Building with AI

I enjoy building small tools and automations for personal and professional use, mostly because if something is taking too long manually, I'd rather spend an hour making it faster permanently.

Fun facts and short stories

Work

How I got my job at Eurofighter

After months of job searching online with limited results, I moved to Munich to live with family, learn German, and keep trying. One evening, out for beers with a new friend, Elena, who heard about my background and thought I might be a good fit for a position at Eurofighter. She was right. My dad has always said: real opportunities happen in the street, talking to people, with a beer in hand. Turns out he was right.

Travel

Iceland, a campervan, and the best road trip of my Erasmus

During my Erasmus year in Lucerne, a group of us drove across Iceland in a campervan. The kind of trip where the landscapes make you feel genuinely small, everything goes slightly wrong at some point, and you end up closer to the people you went with. I filmed and edited the whole thing, and you can watch it here.
